Tompkins Community Center
The Tompkins Community Center offers residents a unique and picturesque venue for hosting a wide range of functions from modest weddings and receptions to rehearsal dinners, birthdays, retirements and graduations.  Smaller gatherings may also be held in the center at an hourly rate, when available.

The Tompkins Center is air conditioned and heated.  There is also a gas fireplace to add to the ambiance.  The garden patio has an awning that is in place from May to October.  The center’s total capacity is 129 people and can comfortably seat 100 for meals.  There are two fully equipped heating kitchens, 2 large coffee urns, tables and chairs.  Rentals may only be made by residents and business owners within Grosse Pointe Park.  The rental fees are:

On weekends, the Center is reserved from 1 p.m. - 1 a.m.  The city requires a $275 refundable security deposit on all bookings.  Take advantage of this wonderful facility for your next party event.  The sound system has been well received from all who have used it. It has a tuner, and a five disk CD changer and is now included in the rental price.

Golden Family Gymnasium
Book your court time now!
  Residents may reserve the gym 72 hours in advance with prepayment or call 24 hours in advance to book without prepayment.  Residents must bring a valid park pass for entry.  Proper tennis/gym shoes and shirts are required.  Water bottles are allowed in the gym, but all other food and drinks are not.  The gym may be booked for basketball, volleyball, badminton and running games.  The Lavins Center supplies basketballs, volleyballs and volleyball nets.

To rent the gym you must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of Grosse Pointe Park.  Those under 18 must have a parent or guardian rent the gym and stay in attendance during the rental.  The gym may only be rented on the hour for one hour increments.  Half court for one hour is $20.00 and full court for one hour is $40.00.  Gym capacity is 25 people per half or 50 for full court.

Gym use policy requires one Park resident to every non-resident.  Rental for parties or large groups (with more than a 1 to 1 ratio of residents to non-residents) is allowed only by pre-registration (72 hrs.), pre-payment and provision of a list of attendees 24 hours before the rental.

Okulski Family Theatre and McKeever Lounge
Are you having a meeting at the office, but you need more room or a large screen for your presentation?  Are you tired of the same old birthday party activities and looking for something different?  Call the Lavins Activity Center today!  Residents can now reserve the theatre for private showings of personal movies, DVDs, Power Point Presentations, meetings, conventions, etc.  Please call (313) 822-2812, ext. 300 for more details and availability.  Theatre capacity is 138.

Permitted Functions
Events sponsored and on behalf of a Grosse Pointe Park resident.  Reservations must be made at least 1 month in advance. A list of non-residents must be given to the gate attendant the day of the event to allow them access into the building.

Lindell Lodge
The new ice rink warming house at Patterson Park has been named the “Lindell Lodge” in recognition of Carlton and Verna Lindell. Their generosity along with the continuing efforts of the Grosse Pointe Park Foundation have built this beautiful facility for our community. We are pleased to announce that it is now available to rent for tea’s, clubs, birthday and card parties, meetings and other small gatherings.  The lodge is available for morning or afternoon rentals from April 15th to November 1st

The lodge features a 32” HDTV flat screen television and surround sound audio system with a gas fireplace, 2 leather club chairs and 2 wooden cafe tables with accompanying wooden chairs. The side windows open and there is a ceiling fan. There is also a handicap accessible restroom.  There is no refrigeration, kitchen, sink or serving utensils. Coolers are allowed and the counters may be used for serving food. Total capacity is 25 people.

Building Rules:

No smoking allowed.

Balloons and table decorations are permitted. No wall decorations allowed.

The lodge is an “AS IS” rental room. Additional seating and tables are not allowed in the lodge.

Picnic permits will not be issued for use with the lodge, however a grill will be available for your barbeque needs.

Rental Fees:

The lodge is available for morning or afternoon rentals. Rental times are from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (4 hr. rentals) Monday - Friday rentals are $50.00 per booking. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays are $75.00 per booking. A separate security deposit of $100.00 is also required. Security deposit checks will be returned immediately following an event provided there are no damages to the facility.

All fees must be paid 1 week in advance at the Parks and Recreation office.
