Grosse Pointe Park Foundation

Grosse Pointe ParkAbout Pointe Park Foundation

At the City of Grosse Pointe Park, we have been fortunate to be surrounded by a community of generous residents. Thanks to your donations, the City has wonderful amenities that truly make Grosse Pointe Park a unique place to live. A list of projects funded by the foundation over the years can be found on the Pointe Park Foundation Projects page. Many of these projects would not have been possible without the generous support of the residents of Grosse Pointe Park.

History of the Grosse Pointe Park Foundation

Established in 1984, the Grosse Pointe Park Foundation was the first private foundation among all the Grosse Pointe cities. It is a non-profit Michigan corporation formed by the action of the City of Grosse Pointe Park City Council. The foundation is classified as a public charity under the Internal Revenue Code, and all contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible.

Thanks to the foundation, Grosse Pointe Park boasts two beautiful lake-front parks: Windmill Pointe Park and Patterson Park. Windmill Pointe Park offers amenities such as swimming, walking paths, tennis courts, picnic areas, fishing, a fitness center, movie screenings in two city-owned theaters, venues for family events, and breathtaking sunset views. Patterson Park features a boardwalk, ice skating rink, splash pad, putting/chipping green, tennis courts, and an outdoor fireplace. These are just a few of the projects the Foundation has had the pleasure of supporting. What could be next? Since its inception, the Foundation has been committed to providing Grosse Pointe Park residents with a model community in which to live, work, and play. The Foundation supports a wide range of projects that include both practical and aesthetic enhancements to the City of Grosse Pointe Park. The Foundation relies on you, the generous donors, for project funding. Without donor support over the years, Grosse Pointe Park would look very different than it does today. Anyone can contribute, and the Foundation accepts all kinds of contributions, including cash, stock donations, and real property. Gifts can be made by individuals, corporations, and other foundations. In closing, we would like to thank past, current, and future residents for choosing Grosse Pointe Park as your home. The Foundation seeks your passion, commitment to quality of life, and desire to improve our model community. For more information, please visit the Grosse Pointe Park Foundation website.
