Planning Commission

Overview

The Planning Commission is responsible for creating a master plan for the physical development of the city; preparing comprehensive programs for capital improvements; reviewing rezoning requests, site plans, special use permits and other land use applications; developing new zoning standards. The Commission consists of seven members, six of whom serve three-year terms, and one ex-officio member from the City Council.

All members shall serve for a term of three years, except that the terms of ex-officio members shall correspond to their respective official tenures. Download the current Planning Commission Bylaws.

To be considered for an opening of a Commission please fill out a Commission Application (PDF) form and return to the City Clerks Office.
